"Where's Hektor?" Here's Hektor!! What can I say about Hektor? Scroll down the page to his race history - it speaks for itself. Hektor has been everything: he has taught me so much, he has been such a hard working companion, he has been the best leader we could ask for, he must be the nicest dog in the world. It meant the world to me that he crossed the finish line of the Yukon Quest on our team because we have been through so much together. Way back when s a young yearling he led us through our first 100 mile run. In the YQ300 in 2012, when glare ice and overflow were intimidating the rest of the team, Hektor led the team up and over Rosebud and showed the younger leaders how it was done. Hektor was the dog I turned to in order to get us up the final steep climb over Eagle Summit in 2012, never faltering as we hauled our asses over the summit. Hektor was the one who stood there looking at me like I was an idiot as I wandered around looking for the trail that was clearly marked right in front of me. Hektor is Hektor - and long may he continue to be.
