Fya x Poppy

As soon as we started to realise how special Fya was we began thinking about the possibility of using him at stud if we could ever find a bitch that would be good enough for him. Having been long admirers of Penny Evan's Natalie we were very pleased when we asked to be, and were considered for a bitch puppy from a breeding with Eeekonoo's  Zefrane Cochrane (Zef); another dog that w ha d agreat deal of respect and admiration for. Zef and Natalie did not let us down producing a very nice litter from which we were exceedingly lucky to bring Poppy home. Poppy was everything we were looking for in a bitch and so we agreed that when the time was right we would mate Fya and Poppy.

Kermit x Medea

From as far back as 2003 we had been great admirers, albeit from afar. Shortly after moving to Nort America we came up with an excuse to travel west and 'dropped in' to see Paul and Shelley  of Kraken Siberian Huskies and of course meet Kermit in the flesh.
Seeing him only confirmed our original thoughts, and our desire to use him at stud was further compounded when I got to double-sled behind Paul's team led admirably by Kermit.
From this point on we set our hearts on using Kermit and after a failed attempt to collect for an AI breeding, thanks to the kindness of Paul and Shelley Kermit eventually came to live with us and so readily available to use at a time to suit us.

Medea is one special dog. As an 18 month old she led  the whole way at the Can AM 60 and for 80 of the 100 miles at Eagle Lake. From then on she established herself as the main kennel leader and has never come close to being usurped. He  intelligence and drive is matched by her desire to run and eagerness to please; she is also a very well constructed and 'typey' female. As such we saw her as the perfect match for Kermit and thus as dam for our second litter.

To date we have not been disappointed. It seems to us that every puppy from this litter has picked up in equal share the positives from both parents. They are all exceedingly well focused, highly driven, hard working and intelligent. At less than 18 months old every one of the litter is leading with Maddie and Nutter in particular constant picks to lead out some of the bigger Fall teams. We are so impressed with these puppies that a repeat mating is already in our thoughts.

Ollie's Walker x  Cassie

Cassie is probably our fastest leader  and a beautifully  constructed and very pretty girl. We felt that her looks and 'type' would be complimented by a combination  with Anadyr lines. Feeling that Team Ollie had the best examples of these lines on the East Coast we approached Lev to use Loke and when that didn't work out, his son Walker. We are very pleased with what this mating produced and are looking  forward to see how these guys develop.

Pretty much from Day One we have felt that Maddie is a perfect example of the breed. She also has extremely good leadership qualities and is one of the most mentally strong dogs that we have ever had. We held off breeding her until we knew 100% that she was 'perfect'; we then just had to work out which dog would be good enough for her. Having had an amazing first Iditarod, and being sufficiently distant in terms of lines from our other dogs, we decided that Fram was the perfect candidate. We have certainly not been disappointed to dat. Welcome to the Druggies!
